Booked at the Blind Pig

Standard

Last week we brunched/lunched at the Blind Pig in RSM – it was a beautiful day on the lake! We welcomed two new members… Baby Sam was very happy to meet all the beautiful ladies, and we also officially dubbed Reese Witherspoon a member of the book club for nominating so many titles (#RWbookclub). So far she hasn’t been able to attend in person, but we’re hoping her people can make something work in the near future. The Luckiest Girl Alive was a real conversation starter and sparked a lot of opinions about the main character and her motives throughout the book. We decided that we only needed 2 glasses of wine to get through this book – which is a good thing! (We also decided we may need to revamp our rating system).

We decided that we can’t get enough of each other and so, even though our next official read isn’t going to have it’s day in court until July (see what I did there?), we are going to have a book club hang for Happy Hour on Saturday June 18th – no official plans yet, so if you have any big thoughts, send them our way!

CaptureOur next book club title is a fictional, half-historical, legal novel: The House Girl by Tara Conklin (buy it here) . Thanks, Jan, for nominating this title which goes back and forth between modern day New York and 1852 Virginia… looks exciting! We will be dishing & dining on Sunday July 10th @ 10:00 am on the Niguel Shores Bluff for another brunch picnic! Jan will have us all “on the list” again at the front gate, so RSVP (don’t forget the boys & the babes) and we will have more info sent out closer to the picnic date.

Other titles suggested this week:

The Outliers by Kimberly McCreight

All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah
